The van behind the journeys

My 2019 Mercedes Sprinter is transport, shelter and sometimes a place to work. It gives me a base for weekends in the mountains and longer journeys across the UK and Europe.

It is a converted 314 CDI, with somewhere to sleep, cook and sit out the weather. The aim is simple: make it easier to spend more time outdoors.

Some trips fit around working days. I take my laptop and a portable monitor, and use the swivel driver’s seat or rear table as a workspace.

The trip stories show how the van fits into the journeys: the places, changing plans and small practical details along the way.
